We're leading this week's post with a house by none other than Frank Lloyd Wright. This Usonian home is spectacular, and it is hard not to love. Elsewhere around the country, you'll find fixer-uppers, all-original homes and some split-level design. Check them out and let us know your favorites!

Bargain Modernist Home in Waukegan, IL - 1,790 sqft. ($174,900)

Very interesting 1951 home designed by architect William Ganster. It makes use of steel posts to allow the entire south side of the home to be glass with minimal framing. Brick exterior and some fantastic original built ins show that this home was very well thought out. Photos really do not do it justice! Imagine the home cleared of clutter and furnished with some period modern pieces and you'll appreciate the excellent potential this mid-century modern home has. Decent location for a commute into Chicago.

Cute All-Original Florida Modern in Venice, FL - 901 sqft. ($169,900)

Good things come in small packages and this house is no exception. Loads of great mid-century modern details to love and this home looks to be all original. Terrazzo floors, kitchen cabinetry, appliances, light fixtures and awning windows all give this home authenticity - and we love it! There's even a breeze block walled patio out back and the house abuts a lake that attracts a wide variety of birds. I'm sure this one will go fast.

Split-Level Modern in Reston, VA - 2,860 sqft. ($675,000)

Eye catching elevations on this 1968 house give you some idea of the level changes within, and they don't disappoint. Look for the sunken living area with its great vintage cone fireplace and huge glass walls. The screened porch and semi-open kitchen are a few more nice features. The rest of the rooms are a bit pedestrian, but there's plenty to work with here. It's a great location, too, for those working in DC.

Million Dollar 1958 Modern Needs Help in Napa, CA - 2,671 sqft. ($1,100,000)

Huge potential here for this confused and abused modern in a beautiful Napa setting. Plenty of nice details to be found but a few ill fitting remodels have given this one a bit of an identity crisis. Could be something really special with the right buyer.
