Beautiful and unique limed oak desk featuring strong horizontal emphasis and dynamic splayed verticals. Likely from the 1940s, possibly made in France , this is a fine example of early modern design that has all the right moves - think Rudolph Schindler, Frank Lloyd Wright and John Lautner. Original cerused or limed oak finish and nicely rounded edges combine to lend this desk an air of sophistication while also providing a very practical workstation. Plenty of workspace on top, cubby underneath and three ample drawers below. Wide stance legs provide a comfortable and usable desk that is instantly convertible to right or left handed by simply pulling out the drawers and inserting them on the other side.
