Designed by Richard Schultz for Knoll in 1960, the petal table has become a mid century modern design classic. Inspired by the Queen Anne's Lace flower, the understructure gracefully supports the eight individual petals above. This example has an original 1960s base that has been stripped and powder coated to give it many more years of life. The walnut petals on this one were made several years ago to replace the original redwood that had deteriorated. They are rounded at the tips - slightly different from the original but we think the walnut wood grain more than makes up for that and the central iris is a great spot for a vase of flowrs to sit in. The petals retain the signature Knoll knife edge around the perimeter.
