Beautiful early Danish modern daybed in Royal Danish Beech and exquisite original fabric circa 1950. Research still ongoing into maker and designer but Bovirke and Arne Vodder / Grete Jalk. Beautifully crafted solid beech frame with sculpted lip to keep original tufted spring and horsehair mattress. Each side has 27 hand tied buttons covered in the same unique geometric. Frame is solid and has a beautifully aged finish highlighting the golden beech grain. Slight arching of the frame by the support springs but the bed remains in sound working shape and is very comfortable. As there is no support bar for the back cushion this daybed should be placed against a wall or siminlar support if used as a sofa.
