Rare first year production HG Knoll Associates rocking chair designed by Ralph Rapson. Solid birch frame with original woven leather webbing showing great patina. The chair comes from an architecturally significant house designed by Hugh Stubbins in Ingersoll Village, Kalamazoo. Along with other Knoll furniture it remained in the house from the time it was built in 1945 until the house was sold by the family of the original owner in 2019. Another Rapson chair, a rare high back lounge chair also came from the house and is being restored.

Chair is sturdy and usable. Leather webbing has been retightened and it sits very nicely. There is one old repair on the left arm of the chair where the joint was replaced with a pinned tenon.
