Set of 5 vintage firberglass scoop chairs designed by Mel Abitz for Scope Inc circa 1952. Debuting shortly after the famous Eames fiberglass chairs, the Scope scoop chair offers a flexible back for arguably more comfortable seating. Scope Inc was a partnership between Mel Abitz and Forest Wilson with Abitz providing the designs and Wilson the business accumen. These 5 chairs are in a range of conditions from very good to good and one being fair. There are two slightly different base styles with some of the chairs have an extended back support bar. They are priced with condition in mind and are really a set of 4 with a bonus chair. Sold as a set.
