Authentic early production example of Isamu Noguchi's dramatic organic modern sculptural glass top coffee table first produced by Herman Miller in the late 1940s. This example has the much sought after green edge glass only found in earlier productions - prized for its shimmering quality and superior clarity. The glass can also be identified as genuine float glass because it is imperfectly shaped. The glass is in very good condition with only light age typical wear. It also has the solid aluminum rod that joins the two pieces together. The straight rod allows the pieces to pivot freely compared to newer versions that have spurs which lock the base pieces to a fixed angle. The base has the subtle concavity along the longest axis (as shown in photo 7) which is another detail for confirming authenticity. The base is in grat shape iwht only occasional finish wear where the base has sat on the ground.
