Another of George Nelson's designs for his initial modern collection for Herman Miller in 1946, the platform bench is now synonymous with mid century modernism. Originally designed as seating then as a base for modular cabinets, it works equally well as a stand alone coffee table. This early example made of birch with mitered ebonized legs features the authentic doweled joints and staples that once held the paper Herman Miller label. This bench is in good vintage all original condition with plenty of patina including finish wear, discoloration and light scratching.
