Early mixed wood version of Arne Vodder's lounge chair made by France and Daverkosen in the 1950s as Model 161. Featuring a Royal Danish Beech frame with Walnut arms attached by wedged tenons joints, this model has two seating positions, one more reclined for relaxing and one more upright. The walnut is significant as it predates Teak being used extensively- allowed by the technological advancement of cutting technology pioneered by Charles France of France and Daverkosen. Excellent joinery and the contrasting woods complement each other beautifully. This chair is in good vintage condition - sturdy with some wear to the back stretcher. Adjustable seat still works great. See final photo for Bovirke advert featuring the chair. New custom made seat cushions in a nice oatmeal wool by Hallingdal.
