Mid-Century Real Estate for Sale: October 4th, 2019.

A lot of great bargains in this week's real estate roundup! The trouble with some of these "diamonds in the rough" is that they don't always come with spectacular photographs. These are also the kinds of homes we love to feature, because it isn't always obvious what kind of architectural beauty lies behind bad wallpaper and unattractive furniture. Some of these home come with professional real estate photos and some are poorly-lit shots from the street, but each of the listings is a mid-century modern home worth saving!

Post and Beam in Poughkeepsie, NY - 2,251 sqft. ($235,000)

This 1954 house has a really nice post and beam structure with walls of windows, T 1-11 paneling, tongue and groove ceiling and stone fireplace. Private setting and all original fixtures make this a nice find. Photos are limited but this looks to be very good value for money.

Barrel Vaults in Hoover, AL - 3,201 sqft. ($320,000)

The eye-catching roof line and architectural details set this mid-century home apart. Built in the International style, it is minimalist and nicely furnished with Knoll furniture. Again ,photos aren't great - but there is a wonderful house here.

Modern in Bloomfield, CT - 2,440 sqft. ($499,900).

There are loads of great architectural moments in this 1969 home with a bridge entry, wood screens and a sunken conversation area around a stone fireplace. We also love the expansive deck, the light filled living area and the many, many original details.

1958 Beauty in Evansville, IN - 3,417 sqft. ($300,000)

While not quite 'pharaonic' as the listing description states, this spacious home has some really nice architectural details. We love the entry gable beams, open floor plan, original built ins, and cohesiveness of the home. While the current furniture is doing it no favors, some carefully selected pieces would make this place shine.
