Mid-Century Modern Real Estate For Sale: April 5th, 2019
If you have a million-dollar-budget, then it's not hard to find some pretty fantastic mid-century modern homes. For many of us, however, the budget is far lower. This week, we unintentionally ended up with a collection of mid-century modern homes for sale that don't come anywhere close to the million-dollar mark. Proof that great design doesn't have to be incredibly expensive!
Mid Century Perfection in Gainesville, FL - 1,662 sqft. ($449,000)
There's a superb, relaxing feel to this 1959 house designed by Ted Fearney and David Reaves. The lot is a truly tranquil setting and the house makes the most of it. We love the terrazzo and pickled cypress throughout.

California Ranch in Auburn, CA - 1,697 sqft. ($415,000)
Beautiful setting for this equally stunning 1962 home. Love the simple pallette of warm wood and white walls throughout, making this a cohesive home that is free flowing. Apart from the oversized craftsman furniture, there's not really anything I'd change. There's no doubt that this home will sell quickly.

Unique 1957 Home in Olympia Fields, IL - 3,234sqft. (Foreclosure at $124,900)
There is so much potential here at a great price. Loads of nice details from the striking angled posts around the patio to the central brick fireplace with built-in seating. Bathrooms have great original 1x1 tilework too. Sure to be some competition on this listing.

Bright Mid-Century Modern in Vestavia Hills, AL - 2,936sqft. ($545,000)
There is lots to like about this 1955 home starting with a great entry, slate steps, loads of natural light and one of the coolest staircases we've seen in a while. A pretty good balance of old original finishes and newer updates.

Conversation Pit Home in Cincinnati, OH - 3,832 sqft. ($349,500)
Very unusual mid-century modern home with unique vaulted, skylit sections throughout. The show-stopper is a fantastic conversation pit in front of a fireplace. While the kitchen and furniture are quite horrendous, this has the potential to be a really great modern home.
